If you’re searching for a new Mazda car for sale, you needn’t look beyond our extensive inventory of the latest Mazda vehicles to find an automobile that will support your lifestyle seamlessly. While we’re proud of every Mazda vehicle we have at O’Brien Mazda of Fort Myers, our chest puffs up even more when one of the cars we sell earns high marks for safety.

Just days ago, the Mazda brand announced that the 2018 Mazda CX-5 earned the 2018 Top Safety Pick+ rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety when the SUV was equipped with the car maker’s adaptive front lighting system built after March, 2018. We’re thrilled to tell you that the new Mazda CX-5 is the only TSP+ winner in the small SUV automotive class.

When the 2018 Mazda CX-5 wasn’t equipped with its adaptive front lighting system, the SUV still performed well in crash tests performed by the IIHS. In fact, this iteration of the SUV earned the institute’s second highest mark, Top Safety Pick.

Vehicles that earn the TSP+ or TSP rating are considered to be among the safest in their respective classes. To earn the top mark, the 2018 Mazda CX-5 had to earn the rating of good in the following crash tests: driver-side overlap front, moderate overlap front, side, roof strength, and head restraints.

The vehicle had to earn a score of acceptable or good in the passenger-side small overlap front test as well. The Mazda CX-5 had to earn the mark of advanced or superior for its front crash prevention system and a rating of good for its headlights, too.
